A thin slither of a building, tucked into a cliff face at the rear of a house in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, allows for the construction of a “tower” which pops up just high enough to capture the otherwise unseen sunlight from across the rooftop of the next door property. This magically illuminates and transforms what was previously a dark and drear kitchen at the rear of the house.
