School Playgrounds

After completing an award winning Sure Start Children’s Centre, I was asked to look at a number of school playgrounds.
They were all grim and windswept, with little opportunity for creative outside play and learning. By introducing cover, shelter an landscape interactive learning spaces have grown which have transformed the daily lives of the children who use them.
Each project includes an Amphitheatre as well as lighting, and sound, which makes the interface between inside and out much less harsh, and creates exciting places for staff, children and visitors, as well as allowing inner city schools to provide safe and sustainable outdoor learning.
